Shiatsu

In Japanese Shiatsu literally means “medical treatment”. Shiatsu is good if you are stressed and have tense muscles. It is a technique using fingers, palms and feet (optional) to specific areas of the body. Tapping, squeezing, rubbing and applied pressure is used to get deeper to specific parts of the muscles in your body.

Shiatsu is a health therapy originating from Japan. The word shiatsu means “finger pressure”, and shiatsu is sometimes described as finger pressure massage. Meanwhile, at My Place Spa, we concentrate more on the technique of stressing the nerves of the body by using stamping from the feet.

This massage is specialized by pressing firmly with your fingers or palms on certain points on the body. The benefit is to repair the affected organs. Usually the masseurs who are experts will know which points to press to relieve the patient’s disease. This massage is similar to a totok.
